Space To Create

chashama’s Space To Create Program, one of the largest artist studio program in New York City, provides subsidized studio space to 102 New York City based artists, giving them the space to create. Studios range in size from 200 square feet to over 400 square feet and are rented to artists at up to 90% below market rates. Our long-term studio hub at the Brooklyn Army Terminal and smaller complexes throughout New York City comprise 102 studio spaces.

chashama’s studio hubs contain exhibition and common spaces, small kitchen areas and space for light construction work. In addition to affordable studio space, our Space To Create Program supports artists’  creative and professional development through exhibition opportunities, annual open studios events, a visiting curators program, an online registry, professional development workshops and access to Materials for the Arts.
